Pål Schjetne was a Norwegian Nordic combined skier born on June 6, 1953, in Trondheim. He grew up in the Nidarvoll neighborhood and began his career representing Nidelv IL. Following his marriage in 1973, he moved to Gjøvik and switched to Redalen IL. Schjetne achieved notable success, finishing ninth in the 1976 Winter Olympics held in Innsbruck, and became the Norwegian champion in 1974. After retiring from sports, he worked for companies like Madshus and Sport1 until his passing on July 11, 2008.
