Panagiotis Psomiadis is a Greek politician born on January 20, 1948, in Thessaloniki. He served as a member of the Greek Parliament representing the A' Thessaloniki district for the New Democracy party from 1990 to 2002. He was the prefect of Thessaloniki from 2003 to 2010 and the regional governor of Central Macedonia from 2011 to 2013. In April 2011, he was suspended and removed from his governor position after being found guilty of misconduct, with the decision upheld in 2018 by the Supreme Administrative Court. He has been criticized for political populism during his career.
