Pär Axel Kettis was a Swedish civil servant and diplomat born on December 26, 1933, in Norrtälje, Sweden. He served as the Director-General of the National Defence Radio Establishment (FRA) from 1985 to 1989 and was the Swedish ambassador to India from 1989 to 1994, covering several additional countries including Colombo, Kathmandu, and Thimphu. He later held the position of ambassador in Reykjavik from 1994 until 1998, after which he relocated to the USA. Kettis passed away on January 21, 2022.
