He served as Communications Advisor in the Government of Andhra Pradesh from July 2014 to June 2018. He is known for hosting current affairs programs on Telugu television channels, including Pratidhwani and Namaste Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, he was a spokesperson for the Praja Rajyam Party, and is married to Nirmala Sitharaman, the current Union Minister of Finance. He has authored the book 'The Crooked Timber of New India - Essays on a Republic in Crisis.'
