Parker Griffith is an American oncologist and politician. Born on August 6, 1942, in Shreveport, Louisiana, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives as a member of the Republican Party from January 6, 2009, to January 3, 2011, representing Alabama's 5th congressional district. Prior to his time in Congress, he was a member of the Alabama Senate from January 3, 2007, to January 3, 2009. He was affiliated with the Democratic Party before switching to the Republican Party in December 2009.
