He was associated with the Literature of the Onda movement. Saldaña wrote the screenplay for the film 'Pueblo Fantasma' (1966) and various journalistic articles that remain unpublished. He is noted for coining the term 'hoyos fonkys' or 'hoyos fonkis', referring to clandestine venues where the youth of the 1970s listened to rock and roll, later termed simply as rock.
