Parmeshwari Lal Verma, often known as P. L. Varma, is an Indian civil engineer born on December 6, 1920. He served as the chief engineer of Punjab and worked closely with Le Corbusier, the architect responsible for Chandigarh's design. Reports indicate that even after his retirement, there was an effort to keep him involved in the project at the request of then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Verma has documented his contributions to Chandigarh and was honored with the Padma Bhushan in 1971.
