Parviz Abolgassemi is a French poet of Iranian descent, born on December 2, 1930, in Malayer, Iran. He served as a professor of Persian language and comparative literature at Aix-Marseille University until 1997. In addition to his teaching, he was an associated researcher at the CNRS and translated numerous works of Iranian poets. Abolgassemi is also the father of Maxime Abolgassemi.
