Parviz Meshkatian (1955-2009) was an Iranian composer, musician, and santur player. He also served as a professor at the University of Tehran and was an accomplished researcher. He began his career in radio in 1977 under the guidance of Amir Hossein Ebtehaj. After the fall of the monarchy in 1979, he left radio to help establish a cultural foundation named Aref and Sheida with fellow artists. He collaborated with many Iranian singers, most notably Shahram Nazeri, and released several albums, becoming well-known for his performances and compositions.
