Patricia Noisette Banks Edmiston, born on April 27, 1937, is a pioneering American flight attendant and advocate against racial discrimination. She was one of the first Black flight attendants and successfully took legal action against discriminatory practices at Capital Airlines, leading to broader employment opportunities for Black women in the airline industry. After her flight attendant career, she worked in substance abuse prevention and earned a bachelor's degree from Empire State College. Additionally, she served on the board of the Black Flight Attendants of America and was inducted into the Black Aviation Hall of Fame in 2010.
