Born in 1913, he had a remarkable career, serving as a clerk for the Duke of Windsor and notable figures including Roosevelt and Stalin. Kinna was highly skilled in shorthand and typing, famously taking dictation from Churchill in cramped spaces. His dedication saw him preparing typescripts just in time for Churchill's needs. After the war, he chose not to stay with Churchill and continued working in government service. Kinna passed away in 2009 at the age of 95.
