Paul M. Romer is an American economist born on November 7, 1955. He is known as a pioneer of endogenous growth theory and is a Nobel Prize laureate. Romer served as Chief Economist and Vice President at the World Bank until January 24, 2018. Prior to that, he was a professor of economics at the Stern School of Business, New York University, and held positions at the University of California, Berkeley, Stanford University, and various research institutions. His work focuses on the role of innovation and knowledge in economic growth.
