Paul Robert Milgrom is an American economist born on April 20, 1948. He is the Shirley and Leonard Ely Professor of Humanities and Sciences at Stanford University, a position he has held since 1987. Milgrom specializes in game theory, particularly auction theory and pricing strategies. He was awarded the 2020 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, alongside Robert Wilson, for their development of auction theory. He co-founded several companies, the latest being Auctionomics, and was instrumental in designing auctions for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for allocating radio frequencies.
