Paul Bernard Schmidt was an Australian rules footballer born on April 23, 1917, and he played for Carlton in the VFL. He was renowned as a half forward, leading Carlton's goalkicking from 1940 to 1942, peaking in 1941 with 77 goals in a season. He notably scored 11 goals in a single game against St Kilda. Schmidt was a premiership player in 1938, missed 1943 due to military service, and later captained the Devonport Football Club in Tasmania in 1945. He passed away on June 17, 1961.
