He started his coaching career in 1985 and held positions at Wayne State College, Hamline University, and Cal Poly Pomona. At Cal Poly Pomona, he achieved significant success, including two NCAA Division II titles. His most recent role was the head coach at Saint Mary's College of California from 2006 to 2022, where he led the team to over 250 wins and multiple appearances in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
