Paul Randolph Violi (1944–2011) was an American poet from Brooklyn, New York. He authored eleven poetry books including Splurge and Overnight. Violi was managing editor of The Architectural Forum and co-founded Swollen Magpie Press. Successful in his field, he received several prestigious awards, including fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and The John Ciardi Lifetime Achievement Award. At the time of his death, he was a professor at Columbia University and the New School University, where he taught English and creative writing.
