Paulo César Fonteles de Lima (1949–1987) was a Brazilian resistance fighter born in Belém. His parents fled persecution from a totalitarian regime, returning to Belém shortly before his birth. He became actively involved in the resistance against Brazil's military dictatorship starting in 1969, coordinating subversive publications and protests. After being tortured by secret police, he was released after two and a half years. A lawyer and member of Pará's state legislature, he advocated for land workers and against corruption among influential families until his assassination in 1987.
