Pedro Rivera Toledo is a Puerto Rican composer, arranger, saxophonist, and conductor born on March 9, 1942, in Santurce. He studied under Ramon Usera and Amaury Veray and later conducted orchestration at the conservatory. In the late 1960s, he played saxophone for bands led by Tommy Olivencia and Mario Ortiz. Rivera collaborated with notable artists such as Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald, and contributed to theater and film productions. He received an honorary doctorate from Universidad Interamericana in 2017, where he taught arrangement and orchestration.
