He played for teams like the Indianapolis Clowns, New York Cubans, and Birmingham Black Barons. Notably, Jenkins had a record of 2–2 with the New York Cubans, who won the 1947 Negro World Series. Beyond the Negro leagues, he also played in regional leagues, including the Provincial League and the Mandak League. He was born in Virginia and passed away in 2002 at the age of 79.
