Pello Apezetxea Zubiri was a Basque priest, ethnographer, cultural activist, writer, and honorary Euskaltzain. Born on June 2, 1932, in Goizueta, he served as a priest in Etxarri Aranaz from 1955 to 1965 and became the director of the parish choir. He was the president of the Ttipi-Ttapa Foundation and worked with Herria 2000 Eliza, contributing to the founding of Usoa cooperative. A prolific writer, he published numerous books on Basque culture and ethnography, including a book on grave markers in Etxalar in 2017. He passed away on March 17, 2022.
