Penda Ya Ndakolo is a Namibian politician and member of the SWAPO party. Born on March 23, 1960, in Oshigambo, Namibia, he served as the Minister of Defence from March 2015 to March 2020 in the Geingob I cabinet. Ya Ndakolo has been the Governor of the Oshikoto Region since 2004, interrupted by his terms in the National Council from 2004 to 2010 and as a member of the National Assembly since 2015. He was also a combatant in the Namibian liberation struggle in the 1980s with the People’s Liberation Army of Namibia.
