Justice Penmetsa Satyanarayana Raju (1908-1966) was a distinguished Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Born in Ajjaram village, he completed his education in law gaining his degrees from Madras Law College after earlier studies in Vizianagaram. Raju served as Government Pleader and State Counsel, contributing significantly post the formation of Andhra State. He took part in a legal study visit to Russia in 1964-65 and was appointed to the Supreme Court of India shortly before his untimely death in 1966.
