Per Bäckström is a Swedish professor of literary science at Linnaeus University in Växjö, Sweden, since 2019. He served as a professor at Karlstad University from 2010 to 2019 and was an associate professor at the University of Tromsø, Norway, from 1996 to 2010. Bäckström has been involved with the European Network for Avant-Garde and Modernism Studies and coordinates for Norway in the Nordic Network for Avant-Garde Studies. He has published studies on various authors and works and reviews literature for several publications.
