Per-Erik "Pelle" Sovelius was a Finnish fighter pilot and flight leader, known for his service during the Winter War and Continuation War. Born on June 3, 1914, in Oulu, he achieved 12½ aerial victories over 257 combat flights. He flew the Brewster B-239 and Fokker D.XXI aircraft, becoming an ace with seven victories in the Brewster. He later served as a test pilot and in staff roles, leading Flight Squadron 28. Sovelius faced numerous challenges, particularly with the VL Myrsky aircraft, which was known for its safety issues. He passed away on August 27, 1995.
