Per Vollestad is a Norwegian singer (baritone) and author born on December 7, 1959. He debuted as a song singer in 1986 and performed at the Norwegian Opera in 1987. He has sung in major opera houses across the globe. Vollestad obtained his PhD from the Norwegian Academy of Music in 2002. As an author, he published a biography of composer Christian Sinding in 2005, alongside works on the history of Norwegian advertising songs and music's role during World War II. He collaborates with pianist Sigmund Hjelset and performs with the group Gutta på skauen.
