He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1945 and held various diplomatic positions, including Ambassadorships in Baghdad (1968-1972) and Rome (1972-1976). He also served as Turkey's Permanent Representative to UNESCO (1978-1981) and OECD (1981-1983) before eventually becoming the Ambassador to Buenos Aires until his death.
