L. Kapadia Eye Bank in 1964, the first eye bank in India, and performed over 250,000 cataract surgeries, setting a world record. Honored with the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, he contributed significantly to public health through eye camps, especially in rural areas. He passed away in 2005, leaving a lasting legacy in eye care.
