Peta Teanet was a South African disco musician of Tsonga descent, born in June 1966 and became known as a prominent figure in Xitsonga disco music. He was born in Thapane village and became fluent in Shona. His debut album, 'Maxaka', was released in 1988. Influenced by Paul Ndlovu, he collaborated with various artists, including his brother Foster Teanet and friend Penny Penny. He was recognized as the king of Xitsonga disco music during his career until his passing on July 13, 1996.
