Petar Čobanković is a former Croatian politician born on January 29, 1957. He was educated at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb, earning a B.Sc. in agriculture. He served as the Prefect of Vukovar-Syrmia County from 2000-2001, and as the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management from 2003-2008. In 2008, he became Minister of Regional Development, Forestry and Water Management and later served as Deputy Prime Minister. In March 2013, he was sentenced to one year in jail for corruption, later reduced to a community sentence.
