Peter Braestrup was an American journalist born on June 8, 1929, who served as a correspondent for major publications including The New York Times and The Washington Post. He founded The Wilson Quarterly, where he was also the senior editor and director of communications at the Library of Congress. His notable work includes the two-volume book Big Story, published in 1977, which critically examined U.S. media coverage of the Vietnam War’s Tet Offensive. He passed away on August 10, 1997.
