Peter Burtniak was a Canadian politician who served in Manitoba's Legislative Assembly from 1969 to 1977 as a member of the New Democratic Party. He was appointed as a cabinet minister in the government of Edward Schreyer, overseeing various portfolios including Tourism, Recreation, and Highways. Burtniak was active in agriculture and served in the military during World War II. He lost his seat in the 1977 election and subsequently did not return to politics, later becoming Vice-Chairman of the Manitoba Transport Board until 1988.
