Peter Yama is a prominent Papua New Guinean businessman and politician born on December 12, 1955. He served as the governor of Madang Province from 2017 to 2022 and was a Member of Parliament for Usino Bundi during two separate terms. Yama held several ministerial positions, including Minister of Labour and Industrial Relations and Minister for Transport and Works. He also briefly led the Opposition in 2004. Apart from politics, he heads Yama Security Services Ltd and owns the Smugglers Inn hotel in Madang.
