Peter Chiswell (1934-2013) was an Anglican bishop in Australia, serving as Bishop of Armidale from 1976 to 1999. He was educated at the University of New South Wales and ordained in 1959. His ministry began in Quirindi, followed by roles in Bingara and Gunnedah. Chiswell was Archdeacon of Tamworth before becoming a bishop. An avid bushwalker and environmentalist, he was honored posthumously with a hall named after him at Calrossy Anglican School in 2012. He was married to Betty and had three children, including his son Rodney, who became Bishop of Armidale in 2021.
