Peter Frankopan (born 1971) is a British historian and the director of the Byzantine Studies Center at the University of Oxford. He is well-known for his major work, 'The Silk Roads: A New History of the World' published by Bloomsbury in 2015, and has also authored 'The First Crusade'. His scholarship focuses on the importance of the East in global history.
