Post-war, he studied at Wadham College, Oxford, and gained recognition as a poet and cartoonist. Gammond worked for the Decca Record Company and later became a prominent freelance music writer. He edited 'Gramophone Record Review' and contributed to 'Hi-Fi News.' Gammond's diverse talents included writing operettas and playing in jazz bands, making significant contributions to the arts.
