Peter J. Notaro was an American jurist born on February 21, 1935, in Buffalo, New York. He earned his bachelor's and law degrees from the University at Buffalo. Notaro began his career as a legal practitioner and served as an assistant district attorney in Erie County. In 1975, he was elected to the Erie County Family Court and later to the New York Supreme Court in 1992. After a notable legal career, he retired in 2005 and passed away on June 17, 2014, in Buffalo.
