Péter Kiss (December 12, 1986 – likely May 21, 2013) was a Hungarian extreme sport athlete and mountaineer. He died under not fully clarified circumstances while descending from Kangchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world. Kiss was the first Hungarian to summit all 82 peaks over 4000 meters in the Alps. He is commemorated in Hungary with a plaque on Kékes, the highest mountain in Hungary, and an asteroid, (199688) Kisspeter, is also named in his honor.
