Peter Kleppa was a Norwegian librarian and non-fiction author born on October 30, 1903, in Hjelmeland. He studied for his cand.real. degree at the University of Oslo, graduating in 1932. Beginning in 1926, he worked at the University Library in Oslo, becoming the chief librarian in 1947 with responsibility for technical services and the field of natural history, particularly in botany and ornithology. He also served on the board of the Østlandske Naturvernforening.
