Peter Malischewsky (born May 9, 1945) is a German geophysicist. He studied physics from 1963 to 1968 and obtained a doctorate in geophysics in 1974 and a second doctorate in 1989. He habilitated in theoretical physics in 1994 and became an associate professor of geophysics, specializing in seismology, at FSU Jena until retirement in 2010. He has been a guest professor in Mexico and published a significant monograph on surface waves, recognized internationally as a standard work in the field.
