Peter Alan John Marquis was an Australian rules footballer, active in Tasmania and Victoria during the 1950s and 1960s. He began his career with Devonport and later achieved success with Melbourne in the VFL, playing as a full back. Marquis was part of the team during notable Grand Finals in 1955 and 1956, winning the premiership in 1957. Afterward, he returned to Tasmania to play for North Hobart. He was honored posthumously with an induction into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame in 2005, and was the grandfather of current North Melbourne player Hugh Greenwood.
