Peter Stewart McArthur (1937-2017) was a prominent Australian politician and broadcaster. He worked for the ABC and Channel 2, where he was a newsreader and interviewer. He co-founded Radio Eastern 98.1 FM and served in local government as a councillor and mayor, later being elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly. McArthur played a significant role in road safety legislation and community broadcasting efforts, including being involved with Channel 31 Melbourne. He was also known for his skills as a Scottish Bagpiper.
