Peter Franklin Moulton is an American electrical engineer and physicist born on May 27, 1946, known for his work in fiber optics and lasers. He studied physics at Harvard University and earned his master's and doctorate in electrical engineering from MIT. Moulton worked at the Lincoln Laboratory and later became VP and head of research at Schwartz Electro-Optics. He invented the Titanium:Sapphire laser and has contributed to military applications, environmental technology, and medical fields. He received several awards, including the IEEE Photonics Award, and is a fellow of the Optical Society of America and IEEE.
