He is recognized for compiling the XPM star catalogue and for his contributions to establishing the inertial coordinate system in the Milky Way. Fedorov serves as the head of the Laboratory of Astrometry at Kharkiv Observatory and is a professor in the Department of Astronomy and Space Informatics at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. He has been awarded the Ye. P. Fedorov prize for his significant contributions to astronomical research.
