Peter Schmidt Mikkelsen is a Danish author and former member of the Sirius Dog Sled Patrol from 1977 to 1979. Since the 1980s, he has led numerous expeditions in Greenland's National Park. In 1991, he co-founded the Northeast Greenland Company 'Nanok' and has served as its director since 1999. After 25 years in the Danish business sector, he dedicated himself to Arctic research full-time in 2009, working with several Arctic research centers and initiatives. In 2021, he became the first non-British chairman of The Arctic Club.
