Peter Sebastian Szilvay is a Norwegian conductor and violist born on February 24, 1971, in Oslo. He made his conducting debut with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) in 1996 upon completing his diploma studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Szilvay served as a conducting fellow with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra from 1998 to 2000 and won the Norwegian conducting competition 'Conductor of the Year' in 1999, the same year he was invited to assist Mariss Jansons. He led Manger Musikklag to victory at the European Brass Band Championships in 2011.
