Peter Smalun was a German designer born on May 2, 1939, in Marienburg. He created around 18 dinnerware series and nearly 40 individual forms for notable porcelain companies in East Germany and internationally. His designs remain memorable to many in East Germany. In 1965, he received the Gold Medal at the Leipzig Trade Fair for his Exquisit tea service, recognizing him as the youngest designer of his time.
