He served as Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Finland from March 1, 2014, until February 2018, following Pertti Torstila's retirement. A Master of Political Sciences graduate from the University of Helsinki, Stenlund has held various roles within the Ministry, including Under Secretary of State and Ambassador to Norway. His career also includes time as editor-in-chief at Svensk Presstjänst. He has two children and resides in Finland.
