Peter Teeley is an American political consultant and diplomat who served as press secretary to Vice President George H.W. Bush from 1980 to 1985 and as the U.S. ambassador to Canada from 1992 to 1993. He was press secretary for senators Robert P. Griffin and Jacob Javits before joining Gerald Ford's campaign in 1976. After leaving the White House, he started his consulting firm and was later appointed as a U.S. representative to UNICEF. Teeley was diagnosed with cancer in 1991 and published a book about his experience, 'The Complete Cancer Survival Guide', in 2000.
