Sir Peter David George Terry was a British Air Chief Marshal in the Royal Air Force (RAF). He served as Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe from 1981 to 1984 and as Governor of Gibraltar from 1985 to 1989. Notably, during his governorship, he signed a document that led to the killing of three Irish Republican Army (IRA) activists by the SAS in 1988. This event prompted an IRA assassination attempt against him in 1990. He was born on October 18, 1926, and passed away on December 19, 2017.
