Peter Th. Walther, born on December 1, 1952, in Berlin, is a German historian. He studied German Studies and History at the Free University of Berlin and the State University of New York, where he earned his doctorate in 1989. Walther worked at the 'Zeithistorische Studien' research focus from 1993 to 1996 and served as a scientific employee at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences from 1997 to 2000. Since 2001, he has been conducting research at Humboldt University in Berlin and participated in an initiative regarding the 'University Anniversary 1810–2010'.
